Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Copywriting
With age comes wisdom, and that should be celebrated. When I worked retail, I had a coworker that dreamt about opening a donut bakery. Couple years later, that dream expanded to a bakery and clothing boutique. Due to age, the pandemic, and her responsibility to her family, she didn’t see a way that her dream would become reality. I went ahead with my original offer to her and crafted her bakery and boutique brand.
Baker’s Boutique is a small bakery and clothing store geared toward middle-aged women. According to my research, many clothing stores are geared toward younger or older audiences, but nothing for middle-ages where women are between phases. The overall concept was a lively and fun brand that relates to women who are getting older but still feel youthful. I accomplished this through package design, marketing, and web design. Color selection, motifs, typography, and patterns carry the theme.

When I finally had an opportunity to revamp this project, I decided to focus on pattern design and learning Figma. My original attempt at branding featured heavy colors illegible fonts, and distracting elements. Therefore, I worked on amending these issues.
New fonts give a cohesive feel and easier reading experience. Photography (sourced online) is more vibrant and works with headers and copy text. With an even color palette and focus on negative space, the website is airy and clean. In place of chunky sprinkle designs, I illustrated pastries and clothes related to the company.
As previously mentioned, I took time to learn additional programs. While Figma has more to teach, I designed and protoyped ten pages for a basic workflow of the site.
