Brain freezes are nightmares for creatives. Sometimes we need a little inspiration in order to get the juices flowing. For an interface design project, my classmate Destiny and I decided to solve this problem with an instant idea generator.
Just like a daily prompt book, Aha! is a daily inspiration randomizer for all types of creatives. Fashion, design, writing, painting, you name it. Aha! takes your interests and passions and throws together randomized content so you can get inspired in new ways. Each prompt has a written component and mood palette with a notes section for consumers to write initial thoughts. They can save to the app or export content to any cloud or document service they prefer. Daily prompts and a randomizer are available for shuffle. The library gives users access to their personal profiles, saved content, and an option to manually enter prompts.
Destiny and I worked together to develop the app. Because she had more experience with Adobe XD, Destiny fronted the mockup design and execution. I focused on research and design of the app. Together, we worked out updates for the app, testing, and the final presentation of our idea.
Part of our design process was testing the app to see what icons, proportions, and prompts worked well for users. We went through a few tests, collecting info from individuals of different backgrounds. The data collected from other designers was very interesting because they had suggestions for the content, not just the operation of the app. We took this information into account when making adjustments.
