WordPress, Elementor, Adobe XD (testing), Illustrator, Photoshop, Copywriting
Age 6, I wanted to be an author. Age 15, I learned what it took to get published. Age 19, I built my author blog.
Having interned with a nonprofit blog and taken a few graphics classes, I knew the basics of WordPress, posting, and cropping imagery. Year after year in SCAD, I updated my blog to fit the many lessons I’d learned regarding website design, photo editing, readability, intuitive UI, and so on.
I have since rebranded to samanthatypes.com, but the original srsinkfeather.com was a galaxy of vibrant visualizations, custom elements, and “paper” masks for short stories and character bios. On Instagram and other social platforms, similar graphics would appear in carousels. The primary goal was to immerse viewers in my perspective, a realm that sees reality and fantasy all at once.

In 2025, I delved into the realm of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and analytics. My site initially had less than 1k viewers (or clicks) and appeared in about 10k searches. At the point I rebranded, I had nearly 14k clicks and over 120k search appearances. Even with the domain change, I’ve retained many of these viewers.
Beyond front-end beauty is back-end functionality. Keywording for Google and now AI searches, adding descriptions to images, and paying attention to what content gets searched and how to recreate that buzz is vital to growth. The internet is a wild west of content, and it takes unique looks and innovative coding to stand out.
